 Why We Do What We Do: Schools are one of several places to provide a safe and healthy environment that facilitates effective student
learning. CIS of Tacoma connects local community resources to schools in order to lessen the issues of health and economic problems and simultaneously deliver the 5 basics.
Program Goals:
· Improve family involvement with the school and community
· Increase healthy lifestyle behavior choices
· Increase volunteer mentors
· Increase students’ academic achievements
· Increase the number of one-on-one relationships formed between students and caring adults
